Hot off the Press

“There’s no crying in baseball.” Some great news: Maybelle Blair, inspiration for “A League of Their Own” will throw out the first pitch on Saturday. We are asking all softball teams, from Little League to college, to come and meet a legend and advocate for women’s sports…..and a supporter of children’s charities. As you may know, this event enables us to give a minimum of $5000 to UCP-OC every year, to fund the Bud Kuhl Resource room.
This will be a bit scaled back, October 16 and 17th, but no less on the fun scale! While we will still have beer, wine, ballpark snacks, Katella Grill BBQ, raffle and family fun, photos and kids “spin” for prizes, we will not have the silent auction at this time. But, please remember we are fund-raising, and appreciate any small donations. Donation link:…/USJLV7VEXBPCG37RBN2YCUFG
All are invited…this is a great event to have the kids RUN wild on the field. Get your holiday photos in the dugout!
We will have the infamous Clyde Wright tours…2 times per day, with sign ups at the registration desk.
As in the past…well behaved restrained pets are welcome.
Facemasks are encouraged but not required.
Please share with all the Little League teams! This is a great place and time to have your season-end celebration. We love to see the teams on the field making the “Trout” catch , Fletcher home run or Ohtani steal at second. And, we need mitts for the BP! BP will take place starting at 8:00 am Saturday and Sunday. We are encouraging coaches to bring their teams. as we may be able to offer a priceless opportunity. How about taking your team to the inside players batting cage with Chuck Finley and Clyde Wright coaching your team? Could Fletcher make an appearance. Hmmm? All things we are working on. A very short time to get this event together, but the interest and support are overwhelming and exciting.
